Off-Cycle Interior Cockpit Lead Engineer – 37264227 – £27.30/hr umbrella rate

What You Will Do:
– Lead off-cycle engineering activities for cockpit a-surface parts, including trim, finishers, and veneers.
– Author and update Bills of Design and DFMEAs to grow the “body of knowledge” for trim and a-surface components.
– Define and progress innovation and technology projects to enhance the design and functionality of cockpit systems.
– Conduct benchmarking studies to establish best practices and cutting-edge solutions.
– Collaborate with suppliers to stay ahead of advancements in component and manufacturing technologies.
– Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives within the trim and a-surface domain.
What You Will Bring:
– Strong knowledge of plastic automotive component design fundamentals, particularly in areas such as veneer/finisher technologies, wrapping processes, and geometric control.
– Experience supporting programme delivery for cockpit and interior systems from concept to production.
– Proven ability to resolve technical and process issues within a project team environment.
– Familiarity with product creation, delivery processes, and change management.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
