Quality Team Leader
Salary: £35,000 – £37,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Our client is a successful and expanding manufacturing business known for its commitment to product excellence, continuous improvement, and employee growth. They are looking to appoint a Quality Team Leader to oversee quality activities across the operation and support the ongoing development of their quality function.

The Opportunity
As Quality Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating daily quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and leading a small team of quality personnel. You’ll work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maintain product quality, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
The role combines leadership responsibilities with practical involvement on the shop floor, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both team management and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small Quality team within a busy manufacturing environment
- Promote a culture where quality is embedded throughout production processes
- Manage quality inspections, testing activities, and internal audits
- Investigate quality concerns, customer complaints, and non-conformance issues using structured problem-solving techniques
- Implement corrective and preventative measures to minimise recurring defects
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve manufacturing performance and product quality
- Analyse quality data, trends, and KPIs to identify areas for improvement
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards and company quality procedures
- Support supplier quality processes and incoming material inspections
- Deliver quality-related coaching and training to operational teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, rework, and defects
- Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a motivated and practical Quality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
You will ideally possess:
- Previous experience in a Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Quality Engineering, or Quality Leadership position within manufacturing
- Experience managing or supervising teams in a production, engineering, or factory environment
- Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
- Proven experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvement methodologies
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use inspection and measuring equipment
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- A detail-oriented approach with a focus on maintaining high standards
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, and Operations
