As a Test Rig Design Engineer you will:
- Collaborate with aircraft system specialists to understand test requirements and develop testing methods.
- Conceptualise and design detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings for custom test rigs using CAD.
- Specify actuators, sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems, and produce P&IDs.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure test rigs are fit for purpose and meet engineering requirements.
- Validate designs using hand calculations and FEA while supporting in-house prototype builds.
- Prepare technical reports to document progress and findings effectively.
The Test Rig Design Engineer will bring:
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in rig design and testing methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD for modelling parts and assemblies, along with the ability to produce detailed drawings.
- Ability to manage workload independently, prioritise tasks, and identify solutions with a hands-on approach.
