Automation & Reliability Engineer – Manufacturing / Automation / Controls
My client is an established Tier 1 automotive, and they are seeking an Automation & Reliability Engineer to join our advanced manufacturing facility in Telford. This role focuses on improving equipment reliability, automation performance, and predictive maintenance systems within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
Telford, UK | Permanent | Double Days | 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Implement predictive maintenance and condition-based monitoring systems
- Lead root cause analysis to reduce equipment downtime
- Support automation, PLC control systems, and manufacturing equipment improvements
- Use CMMS and maintenance data analytics to drive reliability improvements
- Lead and support continuous improvement (CI) projects in Manufacturing Engineering
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to optimise performance
Skills & Experience
- Experience in automation engineering, reliability engineering, or controls engineering
- Background in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial automation environments
- Knowledge of PLC systems, automation equipment, and predictive maintenance technologies
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
- Experience with CMMS / maintenance management systems
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background preferred
Current or recent roles will include controls engineer, tpm engineer, maintenance project engineer, ppm maintenance engineer, PLC programmer, automation engineer, controls engineer
