Technical and Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead best practice initiatives and support the Quality Manager in enhancing internal processes.
- Review and drive Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) for non-conformance reports.
- Manage and support the Technical and Quality team during external and customer audits.
- Mentor and develop direct reports within the Q&T team, conducting performance development reviews (PDRs).
- Plan, conduct, and maintain internal audit schedules.
- Perform external audits on suppliers and subcontractors to maintain approved vendor lists (AVL).
- Provide technical support to customers and sales teams, resolving queries and issues effectively.
- Assist in obtaining and maintaining supplier approvals, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
- Conduct technical contract reviews for all departmental sales and material orders.
- Carry out inspections on materials and test pieces as required.
- Support administrative teams with technical aspects of material commodity codes.
- Investigate and resolve internal and external quality issues to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Analyze operational and quality data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions collaboratively.
- Liaise with sales and engineering teams to communicate future customer requirements to Operations.
- Deliver in-house technical training and mentoring for staff.
- Travel domestically and internationally to support technical matters and promote products.
- Maintain flexibility to cover holidays, sickness, and support other divisions as required.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental compliance standards.
Education: HND in Metallurgy or equivalent
Professional Experience & Skills:
- Extensive experience in technical management roles in aerospace, metals processing, and engineering industries.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9120 quality management standards.
- Lead auditor experience (advantageous).
- Strong business ethics, integrity, and commercially focused mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and team leadership skills.
- Proactive problem solver with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and with personnel at all levels.
- Strong numerical and IT skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical teams.
Other info:
35-hour work week (day shift), with flexibility to work overtime as required. (8.30 – 16.30 Monday – Thursday and 8.30 – 13.30 Fridays)
Primarily office-based with occasional travel to company sites, meetings, and conferences.
