Technical Sales Manager

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? This exciting opportunity as a Technical Sales Manager offering you the opportunity to lead the requirement capture, solutions provision and delivery of bespoke specialist material handling equipment working for a world class manufacturing organisation. With the ability to take products from initial design phase through to customer sign off, you will be charged with generating new business being part of a dynamic and innovative company producing high value, low volume bespoke pieces of equipment/machinery. The Technical Sales Manager will focus on customer engagement, professional development, and collaboration, having the ability to build strong client relationships while driving sales success.
As Technical Sales Manager you will:
- Act as a product specialist, offering tailored handling solutions and bespoke below-the-hook attachments.
- Generate sales opportunities and achieve order intake targets aligned with the company’s budget requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and opportunities are maximised.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and extensive client contact to understand and deliver on customer requirements.
- Prepare, cost, and issue quotations while ensuring compliance with pricing and contract standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Design and Manufacturing, to deliver exceptional customer-focused solutions.
The Technical Sales Manager will have:
- A qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/HND or equivalent) or relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with CAD for proposal drawings (desirable).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a self-motivated and organised approach.
- Ability to requirements capture with clients lasing with the design and engineering teams to provide equipment solutions to their needs.
- Technical knowledge and initiative, with the ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, with occasional overseas trips.
