SERVICE ENGINEER REQUIRED IN NORTHAMPTONSHIRE!!
Are you a Mechanically Biased Service Engineer, or a Mechanical Engineer seeking a new job out on the road predominantly covering the South of the UK?!
We are actively seeking a Service Engineer to join a well-established engineering business based, the business is based in Telford (Shropshire), but this is a job that you can do from home so there will not be a requirement for you to travel to the Telford office daily.
The standard working hours for this job are day shifts Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week), the basic salary will be up to £40,000 per annum (DOE), with overtime opportunities available and paid at T1/2 for anything worked over 37.5 hours in the week and on a Saturday, and double time on a Sunday. Should a Bank Holiday be required you will also receive double pay for working this day + a day back in lieu.
Although the hiring manager is looking for someone who is predominantly Mechanically biased (90% Mechanical), they would like someone who has got some Electrical experience.
We are looking for someone who holds a certificate/qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or similar), and whilst the preference would be to find someone who has previous experience within the recycling industry, they are happy looking at candidates who have a background in a Heavy Engineering environment that has previously worked on Heavy Machinery or Heavy Equipment.
A company van, laptop and phone will be provided.
What You Will Do:
- Utilise your skills in fabrication, welding (Stick & MIG), and general engineering to address diverse maintenance requirements.
- Diagnose faults and repair baling machines, applying mechanical expertise to ensure operations run smoothly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to prioritise and adapt to daily operational needs.
- Adhere to health and safety best practices, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
- Travel within the UK and abroad to provide on-site support and maintenance, representing the company’s commitment to quality service.
- Contribute to reducing equipment downtime by confidently and efficiently solving technical problems.
What You Will Bring:
- Proven experience in manufacturing or factory environments, particularly within heavy industry settings and the waste sector.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a multi-skilled mechanical, or service engineer.
- Hands-on expertise with welding, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of industrial hydraulics and experience with repairs to heavy fabrications would be advantageous.

Location:
The business are located in Telford (Shropshire), but you will be able to work from your home location and head straight to jobs located in the South of England.
