Rate: £28.41/hr Umbrella (inside IR35)

Position Description:

The Trading Division Imports function enables the business to import Chinese & Indian produced components for use in the UK and European manufacturing facilities.

As an Imports Outbound Analyst, you’ll be the daily point of contact for the manufacturing plants, ensuring all plant deliverables are managed and parts are shipped on time, in full and within targets.

The role will also involve supporting the contract management of service providers. This is a customer-facing role primarily responsible for managing the relationship with TD Imports customers. The outbound team oversees the operations process and is critical to facilitating a seamless handoff of customer demand through the E2E process as enabler to an efficient outbound process through accurate control and data alignment. The positions requires knowledge of both inbound, outbound, customer and central TD processes and a large degree of interaction with all teams in both daily operations.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Complete shipping and SAP tasks required to achieve 100% on time and in full delivery of parts supply to all 12 UK & EU customers.
  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to schedule releases, shipping and export standards Monitor/ Control and Reporting of parts stocks and shipping status in line with Schedule parameters - Time and Quality and escalate issues transparently where appropriate
  • Work on the Pre-production volume requirements and parts run-outs, including management of New Parts for Model Year and Running Change requirements
  • Work closely with 3PL to resolve any supply issues Help resolve any change requests required to SAP systems to optimise the processes
  • Maintain contact with customers and freight forwarders, optimising trailer utilisation and monitoring dock adherence
  • Resolve SAP IDOCs failures related to Operations issues
  • Support the Outbound premium freight process Liaison with cross-functional teams to ensure the stock levels are maintained at the correct level to maintain production when parts issues are identified
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong analytical and MS Excel Skills
  • Ability to quickly understand and challenge Logistics processes
  • Previous experience in Material Planning / Logistics, preferably from within Motor Manufacturing / FMCG or Supply Base Industry
  • Experience of Customer Relationship Management
  • Good problem solving techniques and understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Good analytical skills in data control and understanding of production processes
  • An individual who is results driven with the ability to deliver operational plans in a highly demanding environment
  • An individual with the ability to prioritise their work load
  • A good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideas
  • An effective team player who supports team members
  • Ability to quickly understand and challenge Logistics processes
  • ERP Systems knowledge (SAP / CMMS3 / other)
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving ability/techniques and benefit contribution

Preferred

  • Experience and/or knowledge of working with SAP is an advantage
  • Understanding of Manufacturing production methods desirable

Education

  • Relevant Degree or equivalent experience preferred

You will be involved in a variety of engine installation and test projects for off-highway machines and generator sets, primarily covering mechanical and electrical engine-to-machine integration, shakedown, and testing. 

As a Test & Validation Engineer, you will:

  • Effectively manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Operate a multitude of different vehicles, including excavators, back-hoe loaders, telehandlers and track-type tractors.
  • Diagnose and fix a range of faults on both engine and machine.
  • Work from engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical and hydraulic).
  • Travel to various off site test and development facilities.

  • Demonstrable high level of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical/electronic aptitude with a good working knowledge of engines and machines.

Skills Required:

  • Embroidery digitising.
  • Experience of DG16 Tagima software.
  • Experience of creating artwork, stitch paths, stitch types to meet a brief.

Skills Preferred:

  • Experience of all aspects of machine and handsewing, preferably durkopp experience.
  • Previous experience of working with leather and automotive textiles.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of interior soft trimmed automotive parts and their assembly.

Experience Required:

As a CNC Programmer, you will be working as part of an integrated Design & Manufacturing team responsible for producing high-value 1-off wind tunnel model components to quality, time, and budget, in accordance with project manufacturing tolerances and schedules. You will complete off-line CNC milling programming using Delcam Powermill and Powershape, ensuring material waste is minimised and the best use of the machine tool's capabilities is made.

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

  • Raise "program master record" (PMR) sheets as instructions on how to manufacture the part
  • Regular communication and coordination with CNC Section Team Leader, CNC Technical Lead, and other Model Making Centre teams to ensure understanding of progress with CNC parts, in particular required quality and delivery dates for the completion of CNC operations
  • Ensure the minimum direct (project) booking requirement is achieved using correct project booking codes for work completed
  • When on shifts, ensure a safe and timely handover of the work in progress to the incoming shift and team leader, ensuring that adequate notes and technical advice are available
  • Make recommendations for process improvement in CNC techniques, where appropriate, to the CNC Section Team Leader
