Job Title: Wire Person / Control Cabinet builder

This is an exciting opportunity for 4 - 5 people with experience being a Wire Person or Control Cabinet Builder to develop their careers by working on projects involving state of the art automated test, control and data acquisition systems across many industries, including Aerospace and Automotive, either in a Prototyping or Production role. The successful candidates will join a dynamic company with an excellent reputation in the Test and Measurement industry that actively encourages professional development.

Responsibilities of the Wire Person / Control Cabinet Builder will include the following:

To build wiring looms, cable assemblies and connectors from design drawings and kits to the agreed build standards and timeframes.

To build complete test equipment items from drawings to the agreed build standards and timeframes.

Wire cabinets and fixtures from drawings to the agreed build standards and timeframes.

Assemble PCBs ( Desirable but not essential)

• Liaise with in house engineers with technical queries and provide build solutions.

The Wire Person / Control Cabinet Builder should have the following skills or experience:

• Understand engineering drawings, wiring schedules, and circuit diagrams.
• Able to solder to a consistently high standard.
• Comfortable with crimping, splicing, soldering and lacing to aerospace standards.
• Familiar with military specification and other types of connectors and cable production techniques.
• Able to work to IPC 620 Class 3.
• Have ESD awareness.
• IPC 620 Certified
• Able to work independently and as a strong team player.
• Willing to provide on-site support at customer premises when required.
• Work tidily, methodically and accurately to deadlines.
• Have own tools, specialist tools will be provided.
• Have relevant Industrial experience, ideally within the Defence or Aerospace sectors.

The successful candidate must satisfy security clearance requirements - including the last 5 years continual residency in the UK.
