Title: VCSE App Leader (Visual Component Software Engineering)

Position Description:

VCSE Appearance Leader (2 positions: Interior and Exterior)

VCSE based position to provide integration, project management and technical support between Engineering, Studio and Feasibility areas to drive an effective and timely surface design/ development process.

  • Support the development of the Studio surface release plans including Engineering Cut Off (ECO) incorporation
  • Track K Loop ECO submissions and assess ECO quality vs. agreed plan
  • Track K Loop Studio surface releases and assess ECO data incorporation vs. agreed plan
  • Evaluate K Loop Studio surface release for fit and finish & craftsmanship requirements (K5 onwards)
  • Assess completeness and tolerance compliance for each K Loop (according to Design development process)
  • Input Design Development Check List (DDCL) functional engineering deliverables and provide input from CAD capable engineers
  • Ensure that Craftsmanship Standard Books are published and provide on time - Consolidate and communicate hardpoint data from key stakeholders (CAD capable engineers and attribute teams)
  • Key interface for D&R engineers & CAD Capable engineers for Class A related issues
  • Lead escalation process with DTO & champion and organise FER cadence/ agenda
  • Support AAF process and cadence
  • Provide and publish K Loop progression and health

Key Skills Required:

  • Be able to explain all technical elements which are being tracked in simple terms
  • Be able to summarise and present technical & timing elements to management
  • Be able to understand and interrogate Engineering, Attribute and Studio proposals
  • CAD Catia capable with knowledge of TcE
  • Knowledge of ICEM and Studio systems
  • Knowledge of Surface release processes
  • Microsoft Office inc Project proficient
  • Knowledge of interior and/ or exterior manufacturing processes

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Positive and engaging attitude
  • Ability to integrate within multiple teams and track multiple deliverables
  • Experience working in a studio and feasibility environment
  • Experience working with Attributes, C/ship, Design and Engineering
  • Proven experience Design & Release, Design Studio, or related experience

Education Required:

Degree or equivalent

Unlikely - but after Covid there may be tithe occasional day trip/ overnight to Cologne.
