Title: Unit Programme Buyer - 37140
Contract Position based at: Gaydon and Whitley
Rate: Up to £28.04/hr Ltd rate (which equals £21.64/hr PAYE rate)
The role of the Unit Programme Buyer provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a cross functional team that designs and delivers new technologies that providem the company with a competitive edge, entry into new vehicle market segments, and builds the platform for growth.
This role shall ensure that (PD) Product Development and the (BAC) Battery Assembly Centre (the "Customers") directly involve the Global Commodity.
Leads in the "Concept Development" of new technologies and introduction into new facilities through sourcing and on into production, recognising all and any risks and opportunities, driving activities and teams to target adherence on cost, delivery, and quality.
The role will pro-actively organise `Supplier Technology` and `Cost Event` workshops, support the development of cost assumptions to support targets / technology selection, develop stronger linkages into the Advanced Engineering teams, and ensure that appropriate supply partners are selected for early concept work in line with commodity strategies.
This is an underdeveloped area where significant opportunity exists to further the effectiveness of the function at a much earlier point in the product development cycle.
- Project management Commercial: EITHER purchasing/procurement (e.g. Buyer) OR Sales OR Logistics
- Cost Management/Governance/Negotiation/Saving
Degree qualified OR extensive experience (ideally 8 years+) in Commercial / Project Management
Good IT skills (Excel, Powerpoint)
