Tooling Logistics Controller

Lightweight engineering – polymer, composites, carbon fibre.


A leading company in lightweight engineering solutions is seeking an experienced, Tooling Logistics Controller to support the production process through management of tooling stock. As an experienced production stores operative, you will be responsible for stock inventory management to repair and refurb of existing tooling. You will work as part of the team supporting on and off-site stock storage management.

Job Function & Key Tasks

  • Maintain high levels of efficiency, regarding accurate on time shipping.
  • Ensure all shipment documentation are recorded correctly. i.e., pick notes, delivery notes POD’s
  • Maintain stock levels to a high level through regular planned stock inventory taking.
  • Organising transport
  • Space management
  • Storage Management (Onsite & Offsite)
  • Development management for upcoming projects, in hand with manager.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties set by manager
  • Produce delivery notes & transit documents
  • Order picking and checking to 100% efficiency.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Tool Hanging / Slinging

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a production stores environment is essential.
  • Current Reach, Counterbalance & Overhead gantry crane licence required.
  • PC Literate – Email (Outlook), MS Office (Excel, Word, Access), Use of MRP and Warehouse management systems (Javelin in this instance).
  • Experience in working to processes compliant with ISO 9001 (and ideally TS16949).
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • You will be highly motivated to be able to work as part of a small team as well as alone when required.
  • Able to demonstrate a flexible and dynamic approach to all tasks set.
  • Effective time management – able to work within tight timescales in line with production needs.
