My client is a niche plastic injection and rubber moulding manufacturer with an enviable reputation in their market. Supplying quality products on a tier one basis, they work with global customers through the General Manufacturing and Automotive market. The appointment of a high calibre Technical Manager is fundamental to the growth of the business, as someone who can offer true leadership capabilities as well as the technical expertise needed.
Your duties & responsibilities will include the following:
- Demonstrating first class leadership by managing and developing people within the technical team
- Creating and developing innovative new product designs
- Improve the reliability and performance of tooling through planned and reactive maintenance programmes
- To support other areas of the business such as Quality, using efficient problem-solving techniques that address customer concerns in a timely manner
- Assisting Production with process and operational challenges to ensure the business meets customer demand
- Closely work with Sales team to support key technical requirements
- You will support continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency through the business
We are looking for the following:
- An innovative Technical Manager with strong plastic injection moulding experience
- A leader, someone who can demonstrate effective management and development of people
- You'll be a critical thinker, able to proactively achieve results
- A thorough understanding of modern production processes and associated machine tools and materials that will deliver the most effective and efficient means of manufacture
- Excellent communication skills; able to influence people from shop floor to boardroom level
- High level of commercial acumen, which is imperative when customer facing
- Ideally degree qualified
