Systems Engineer / Functional Safety Engineer - Norfolk, Perm
Bluechip automotive manufacturer with firm growth plan is seeking 2 off systems engineers with an emphasis on functional safety. 1 engineer is required to work at electronic device level/system level, the other at whole vehicle level. Duties will be primarily within functional safety but I am seeking a generalist who has worked within this environment rather than a specialist assesor
What you will do
Working with system engineers, components engineers and external suppliers, you'll design ISO 26262 compliance systems, perform system hazards and risk analysis, defining safety goals and concepts along with technical, software and hardware safety requirements.
You'll work with Safety and Failure analysis, documenting analysis and recommending requirements and results off the back of this analysis.
With exceptional modelling expertise and experience within functional safety practices, concept and design under ISO26262, you will manage and lead functional safety projects at both concept and analysis level.
What you will need
You'll need an excellent understanding of the vehicle HW SW and its main functional components. You'll also need a strong understanding of safety metrics (SPFM, LPF, PMHF), silicon devices, processors, micro-controllers and safety mechanisms.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
- Strong experience in delivering automotive functional safety projects
- Excellent modelling (SysML/UML) and safety experience
- System and Software Safety development knowledge
- FMEA, FTA or other tools
- Experience using MatLab and safety analysis toolsContinue
