Purchasing Risk Manager
Paying up to £45,000 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Risk Manager to provide support to a growing and busy department within a luxury car manufacturer based in Coventry. The Purchasing Risk Manager is a permanent role and paying up to £45,500 per annum.

What you will be doing:

  • Working within a strategic role, starting at the sourcing stage, and continuing through to supplier assessment via regular credit rating and other reviews whilst parts are in production
  • Using triggers to proactively analyse the risks faced by suppliers based on their status or their location and use that to minimise the risk of parts supply being disrupted by insolvency or other credit risks
  • Provide appropriate actions required to mitigate the risk of disruption to the production line, and in the event of a supplier administration, technical advice is provided for whichever location that supplier is in.
  • Reporting at risk suppliers to Purchasing Senior Management
  • Working effectively with buyers to help mitigate risk, attend monthly management meetings and work with cross-functional teams to make clear and effective decisions to reduce risk, guide buyers at times of supplier distress, ensuring that the correct procedures are followed and that all parties are up to date with developments
  • Leading in the preparation and updating of training material and assisting in the presentation and provision of support in the delivery of the supplier risk training to buyers
  • Undertaking supplier financial review at the sourcing stage, using records from Companies House, credit rating providers and supplier's own data

Candidate profile:

  • An insolvency and purchasing background would be beneficial
  • The ability to read and manipulate financial data
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confidence and the ability to present to senior management
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Stakeholder and relationship building abilities
