Strategic Sales Manager (Germany)

Our Germany based power generation Client has an exciting new opportunity for a Strategic Sales Manager to manage, maintain and build a stronger market share for its German business base.

They specialise in the manufacture and service of gas turbine powered generator sets which are mainly used for combined heat and power. They are a global company with a broad customer base throughout the world and employs approximately 250 people.

The role will suit an individual with experience of the full spectrum of the sales process gained within the energy industry, ideally with knowledge of gas turbines and German energy markets.

The role will involve working closely with internal departments, clients, agents, subcontractors and third parties, delivering excellent customer service while adding value to our business.

The successful candidate must be a German resident, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and live within a commutable distance of Giessen (near Frankfurt). There will be a requirement to travel throughout Germany and into other countries (including Poland) therefore candidates must hold a valid passport and driving licence.

Reporting to the UK based Executive Manager of Sales, Marketing & Projects, fluent English and German verbal and written skills are essential.

Candidates must have at least 5 years' experience in the German CHP industry, be educated to engineering degree level (electrical or mechanical) and be able to demonstrate a professional sales track record following recognised sales training.

The role is focused on the following areas:

  • Negotiation and closure of all commercial and contractual aspects of a sale including signing of contracts
  • Initial evaluation and appraisal of potential projects
  • Management of and liaison with agents and other Sales personnel in your region
  • Management of the submission of quotations to clients
  • Project costing
  • Quotation evaluation
  • Risk review
  • Handover of projects

The salary offered for this role will be subject to the skills and experience of the successful candidate and will include a company vehicle.
