Stability Controls System Engineer - 50825

A Stability Controls System Engineer is required with experience of writing functional requirements, developing test methods and test reporting based in Essex.

Our client, a global automotive OEM based in Basildon requires a Stability Controls System Engineer to interface to all internal (Electrical, Powertrain, program management etc.) and supplier activities for the development and deployment of features on forward model programs.

  • Test planning, execution and reporting for feature developments and lead program application status
  • Documentation of "requirement met " evidence for Stability Controls features
  • Coordination of supplier and interfacing functions to drive issue resolution
  • To debug prototype vehicles, including issues with other control systems on test vehicles
  • To lead resolution of functional Stability Controls DURIS /AIMS issues
  • To resolve queries arising from requirements analysis at the supplier
  • To develop and document local requirements for program specific features and functions

The Stability Controls System Engineer should have the following skills:

  • Understanding of primary functions of anti-Lock brake, traction and stability control systems, automotive multiplex systems and distributed functions, vehicle diagnostic and end-of line test requirements and failure mode avoidance techniques
  • Ability to analyse vehicle control system specifications and develop test methods and debug vehicle control interfaces
  • Persistent in driving issue resolution at suppliers and interfacing functions
  • Adaptable in overcoming practical issues to complete test plan
  • Experience of automotive product development cycle, writing functional requirements, developing test methods and test reporting
  • Experience of measurement and analysis using CANalyzer or similar
  • Articulate in report writing
  • Willing to travel
  • Experience of vehicle de-bugging at electrical system level
  • Experience of vehicle diagnostic and SWDL tools (DET, GGHD or similar)
