HR Advisor

6 month Contract

Standard 40 hours per week


Our client is a leading automotive specialist and they are looking to enlist a specialist HR Advisor on a 6 month contract basis. The role could be extended but will be recruited for an initial 6 month period.

As the HR specialist you will be experienced and have a proven track record in a HR management role including experience of dealing with employee relation issues, a working knowledge of employment law as well as experience of working with unions within a HR capacity.

You will act as the first point of contact for all management queries in relation to your business areas, covering the full employee life cycle. Providing a comprehensive HR service to support and develop the business with the end goal of enhancing business performance, you will ensure adherence to company policies and employment legislation and provide advice on a wide range of HR issues such as:

Grievance and disciplinary issues;
Absence management;
Employee development;
Salary planning;
Organisation restructures;
Conflict management.
You will proactively maintain a detailed awareness of the most up to date employment legislation and company regulations. You will work closely with the Union to resolve conflicts and ensure the business is operating in line with collective agreements. You will deal with and steer issues raised through Union negotiations within your business areas. You will work closely with, and support and steer, various internal departments and external providers, such as Recruitment, HR Central Administration, Talent Management, HR Planning and Occupational Health, to ensure appropriate services are provided to your business areas. You will always ensure full compliance in every process and intervention carried out, and you will be integral in producing result as part of the HR strategic landscape and responsible for delivery of agreed targets.

Individually, or in conjunction with other functions within the business, you will proactively develop, improve and roll-out fundamental HR concepts, policies and processes and further develop existing management structures. You will ensure accuracy of data in accordance with internal and legislative guidelines and, in addition, you will be involved in a number of projects (Company or division-wide), supporting the business to optimise efficiency; maximising sustainability and success.


Qualifications and Experience

Essential skills/experience required:

Excellent communication skills in addition to project management skills, with outstanding attention to detail.
The motivation, multi-tasking and people skills to solve problems and conflicts in pressurised situations.
The ability to present, negotiate and influence others in the face of opposition, and make decisions with the Company’s best interest at heart.
Fluent English required.
Desirable skills/experience:

Degree or CIPD Level 5 or equivalent, preferably in HR/Business Management.
A proven track record in an HR Management role, including experience of dealing with employee relations issues and a working knowledge of employment law.
