Software Controls Senior Engineer - EV and Hybrid Vehicle - Permanent - Nuneaton - £ 32 - 55k DOE

Our client is a global provider of pioneering engineering, research and test services to the automotive, defence, aerospace and rail sectors. They are seeking a Software Controls Senior Engineer to help shape the Electric and Hybrid Vehicle technologies of the future. You will make significant contributions to key projects in the area of software simulation and control of EV and Hybrid propulsion systems.

What you will do
As Software Controls Senior Engineer;

  • Develop automotive control strategies through prototype modelling using MATLAB / Simulink / Stateflow.
  • Develop safety related control systems utilising IS026262 methodologies.
  • Conduct prototype integration and testing on full scale prototype vehicles.
  • Support the generation of system and sub-system requirements.
  • Produce documentation to a high standard.

What you will need
As Software Controls Senior Engineer;

  • A relevant engineering degree, with a preference for a higher degree eg. PhD.
  • Experience of development of software control strategies using MATLAB / Simulink / Stateflow.
  • Demonstrable experience in working to full software V-cycle.
  • Exposure to automotive functional safety.
  • Have a broad understanding of key components of electric vehicle powertrains.
  • An understanding of C programming, vehicle network protocols and configuration management systems would be highly desirable.
