Senior Sales Engineer - West Midlands - Manufacturing - Competitive Salary

A Senior Sales Engineer is required to join a Manufacturing and Forging organisation who will be responsible for providing a sales function for the company to existing and potential customers to increase levels of profitable business. The Senior Sales Engineer will cover existing and potential new business with the Manufacturing and Forging Industry.

The Senior Sales Engineer will ideally be form the Forging Manufacturing Industry and could have and Engineering background from the shop floor. The successful Senior Sales Engineer will increase revenue for the company and shall be well rewarded for any success with increased company profitability.

The Senior Sales Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Build and maintain customer relationships including visits and written correspondence
  • Maximise sales potential by Direct customer liaison including visits
  • Telephone contacts in respect of all aspects of past and present and future sales potential
  • Review of existing customer business to define and realise potential new business
  • Analysis and understanding of territory to realise potential new business
  • Develop and act on territory sales activity plans
  • Provide pricing proposals, costings and quotations in response to customer enquiries
  • Complete relevant administration duties as required including customer visit reports
  • Assist with the preparation of Sales Management reports, both Company and Customer
  • Attend Trade Shows and Exhibitions as required
  • Liaison with Finance department to assist with debtor queries so invoices are cleared
  • Work with Customer Service to get quotes approved and resolve customer queries
  • Work with the sales team to meet objectives to increase performance targets
  • Deliver against agreed sales targets

Other requirements for the Senior Sales Engineer include:

  • IT skills - Microsoft word, excel, etc
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels
  • Good presentation skills and Good organisation skills
  • Ability to carry out sales negotiation and achieve/exceed targets
  • Proven ability of developing sales strategies to win new business
  • Able to demonstrate a commercial aptitude and compile and manage proposals
  • Forging and Manufacturing background and knowledge - Desirable
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for the Manufacturing industry
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing or forging environment
  • Skilled influencer - able to influence and gain commitment of others
  • Driven to deliver, collaborative and works effectively with key customers
  • Full current driving licence and able to travel to other company and customer sites
