Senior Mechanical Engineer - Dudley, West Midlands - £45-55k DOE

A Senior Mechanical Engineer is required for a company that leads the way in supplying life-enhancing mobility solutions to a wide range of customers. You will use your engineering knowledge to make a real difference to people, by developing design solutions for accessibility products. You will use a broad spectrum of engineering skills in this ever-changing and rewarding role.

As Senior Mechanical Engineer - you will be required to

• Work with the UK R&D Manager to develop the engineering team.
• Design solutions to meet technical, quality, time and cost requirements (SolidWorks CAD).
• Undertake appropriate calculations and analysis to prove suitability of mechanical designs.
• Produce engineering detail drawings and other associated documentation to a high standard.
• Utilise a sound understanding of geometric tolerances, tolerance analysis and other design principles which are critical to Quality.
• Perform the verification, validation and development of designs from initial concept to volume manufacture.
• Work with appropriate Notified Bodies to obtain the required product certification.
• Be able to supervise the work of others, with a high degree of creative ability.

As Senior Mechanical Engineer - you will be

• An experienced engineer with good technical leadership and practical skills.
• Qualified to a minimum of Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with suitable demonstrable post-qualification experience within a Design & Development engineering environment.
• Knowledge of Electro-mechanical design and manufacturing processes (castings, fabrications, mouldings, etc)
• Skilled in product design & development. Design for Quality & Manufacturability.
• Good understanding of consumer product design
• Highly analytical and methodical, with good written and verbal communication skills.
• Practical, methodical and logical, be tenacious and time managed
• Capable of self-starting and working effectively as part of a larger team.
• Occasional travel to Holland is required.
