Job title: Senior Design Quality Engineer

Automotive Design

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Design Quality Engineer to join our leading client, who design state of the art products for the global market.

You will be required to lead Design appearance quality issues, studies and properties. Assist in delivery of a set of surface models that define an exterior & interior vehicle that meet all quality objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design craftsmanship including gap and flush sign off and highlighting potential risks to improve design quality
  • Meet Engineering teams to review and improve gap, flush and Technical specifications
  • Support the Digital model team to follow Technical input and to achieve the Quality requirements defined, challenging where appropriate.
  • Lead development and manage manufacture of models required to access design quality.
  • Organise and lead Design quality/power wall reviews
  • Being the voice of design quality, communicating design intents and needs within engineering
  • Arbitrate, drive and document agreements between engineering, quality and design
  • Lead development and manage manufacture of models required to access design quality.
  • Support design clay and digital development during A-class

Skills Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience in an Automotive Design Studio or similar
  • Must have in-depth technical expertise with the latest manufacturing technologies and feasibility execution to achieve systems requirements and world-class craftsmanship/performance targets
  • Design quality/Craftsmanship experience essential
  • Degree education or Technical equivalent in Automotive Design or Engineering is preferred but a proven track record is paramount
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Extensive CAD experience, NX preferred
  • Be a natural problem solver
  • Ability to lead an area or project
  • A good understanding of homologation and legal requirements for Vehicle Design
