An experienced Senior Cost Engineer is required to join a blue chip product development company, who design state of the art products for global market.
This role is to assess VFM on Vender Tooling, as well as checking ifs its appropriate for the projects volume and quality requirements. Reporting to the Cost Engineering Manager this role will provide the VFM statement to support the nomination of new suppliers as well as assessing VFM on tooling changes.
You will audit tooling payments while the vender tooling is in development and build.
* Carryout `Should Cost` Estimates for Dyson Automotive vender tooling
* Present `Should Cost` and VFM assessment to Dyson Senior Management as part of the supplier nomination process
* Lead cost down initiative with the suppliers and their toolmakers where required
* Assess and Audit vender tooling design and build to the agreed timing plan, reporting concern to the buyer and PMT
Qualifications, skills and behaviours:
Experience with an Industry Standard Cost Engineering System/Software (Essential)
Experience in Toolmaking and Process Engineering (Essential)
Experience in Automotive or FMCG Procurement (Desirable)
Understand new product launch activities relating to procurement (Desirable)
