As Senior Engineer Battery Management System you will be required to

• Design, develop, test and document where necessary the control code for powertrain components
• Define the most suitable software architecture for each application, ideally standardising the approach across project as best as possible
• Specify the functional and safety requirements for the system and ensuring alignment with other engineering functions
• Develop algorithms for state estimation in Battery Management Systems with a view to optimising performance
• Take ownership of certain aspects of the battery management system, reporting progress & consulting with other areas of the engineering team where necessary
• Plan and perform the testing of Battery Management Systems or other software functions using both in-house and external facilities
• To interface with clients on technical questions and issues

As Senior Engineer - Battery Management System you will have

• Degree qualified or equivalent with relevant experience in automotive BMS development
• Extensive knowledge on Energy Storage System architectures including practical experience
• A high level of competency with typical software coding tools and software validation tools such as Matlab, Simulink, C++, etc
• Familiarity with Functional Safety methodology and requirements
• Experience with application layer design for Battery and HV system software
• A good understanding of vehicle & battery test and approval standards
