Sales Ledger Controller (Part Time)



A Sales Ledger Controller is required with knowledge of accounting software systems

This company based in Hartlebury requires a Sales Ledger Controller with excellent numerical skills for a new permanent role. As a Sales Ledger Controller you will be required to:

  • Take responsibility for and manage the Sales Ledger
  • Maintain the Customer Master Database in SAP
  • Liaise with other departments to find out what Sales Documents can be invoiced
  • Raise Sales Invoices accurately first time and sending these to the customer
  • Raise credit notes where necessary
  • Send monthly statements to customers
  • Phone and email customers to obtain payment dates and remittances
  • Escalate any late paying invoices to the Financial Controller
  • Correctly allocate receipts in the customer account to ensure Sales Ledger accurately reflects current position of debtors
  • Provide information to assist with cashflow forecasting
  • Provide the Financial Controller with regular reports as required
  • Use SAP to find the information necessary to complete the quarterly VAT return
  • Review this information to ensure that errors are corrected, prior to submitting the return
  • Production of the VAT EC Sales List
  • Month end revaluation of Sales Ledger foreign currency balances
  • Month end reconciliation of Sales Ledger to Nominal Ledger
  • Intercompany reconciliations of Sales Ledger balances
  • To assist other members of the Accounts Team as required
  • Any other task reasonably requested by senior management within your skillset

The Sales Ledger Controller should have the following skills or experience:

  • Extensive experience working in a sales ledger role
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • "Can do" attitude, being willing to get involved with everything from the ground up
  • Knowledge of accounting software systems essential, SAP highly desirable
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Highly effective communicator
  • At least intermediate ability to use MS Excel essential
  • Willingness to review what is done now and suggest improvements
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to develop strong relationships for effective team working
