Regional Sales Manager  (competitive market salary level + bonus + hybrid car)

Focused on the further development of sales in the SE of the UK around accurate, robust, intelligent sensors and measurement systems, this role is key for further growth of a rapidly growing UK and European company.  Technical exposure to sensors, automation systems, drives, controls, vision measurement or test equipment would be ideally required.


This is a work from home role.


My clients sensors and systems provide market-leading performance, together with the fastest measuring rates, widest operating ranges and smart interface capabilities, working in 1D, 2D and 3D measurement domains with many different sensor technologies and measurement principles.

Due to both increasing market share and market leading new product developments, with many new product portfolios planned for launch in 2022/3, this role in the south of the UK has great scope for future career development within the organisation. You will be supported by both the Sales Manager South and the Internal Sales and Technical Support team.

We are looking for a dynamic person who can be proactive, work autonomously, and deliver sales growth to the region.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Key Account Management of existing customers; retention and account development
•    New Business Development:
o    Develop relationships with target accounts from existing database of prospects in line with company strategy
o    Convert new enquiries into ordering customers
•    Focus on developing business with the following customer types:
o    OEM ‘s, Machine Builders, System Integrators, Large manufacturing sites across all sectors
•    Communicate at a technical and commercial level with design, project, production, quality managers and directors:
o    Identify, discuss and understand customer requirements
o    Select suitable product(s) to match their requirements
o    Present proposal to customer including product demonstrations/evaluations
o    Overcome objections and win business
•    Demonstrate to the customer how YOU can add value to their organisation
•    Build long term customer relationship

Candidate Profile
It is expected the right candidate will have minimum 5 years’ experience in a field sales role and has knowledge of the current marketplace for automation products. Previous knowledge of our clients’ products is not essential as full training will be given.

A proactive approach to dealing with new customer enquiries is essential. A good relationship builder and business developer is required for this role, with the focus on building long term customer relationships.

A technical qualification in an engineering or science discipline is required for this role. Ideally NVQ level 5 or higher.
