The company are a manufacturer of advanced thermal detection and night vision equipment for the defence, security, safety and construction sectors. They are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to lead the manufacturing team on quality and health & safety.  The successful candidate must be capable of championing the role of QHSE throughout the organisation; this will require both collaborative working with departmental managers and the ability to work independently across all aspects of the business.

The Quality Manager duties will include:

  • Maintaining and developing the company's QHSE systems and processes ensuring process and regulatory compliance
  • Acting as the focal point for all QHSE-related issues (internal, customer and supplier)
  • monitoring and evaluating internal production processes
  • presenting quality-related data at management reviews  
  • scheduling and conducting internal audits liaison with the company's certification body, including surveillance and re-certification audits
  • The QHSE Manager will be responsible for office safety, ensuring a safe place of work, documenting, and reviewing risk assessments, maintaining the accident record book, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations

The Quality Manager will have:

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the ISO9001:2015 Standard and its application
  • NEBOSH Diploma or NQV Level 4 Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Lead Auditor Qualification (ISO 9001 or OHSAS 18001 or ISO 14001)
  • An understanding of electronic and mechanical engineering principles
  • Experience of NPI/production/assembly/test in an SME environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Software expertise in Microsoft Office is essential, knowledge of Sage50 is an advantage
  • Data analysis and statistical aptitude
  • A“hands-on” implementor of processes and change
