We are currently Recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer for a role with an excellent and highly respected Manufacturing company based in Berkshire.
Responsibilities will include leading FMEA's and PPAP submissions, working with the Xtrac Automotive Engineering group and liaising with customers on quality planning and quality issues for low volume high technology automotive transmission projects.
Support new Product Introduction using APQP - compilation of FMEA's and Control Plans etc .
Production Part Approval Part submission warrant document collation and submissions.
Dealing with customers for quality related issues
To work closely with Engineers, Foremen and Machinists to implement robust solutions and changes to manufacturing processes to improve quality and reduce waste.
Maintain the documented Quality Management System and undertake projects, as determined by the Quality Manager, to include process enhancement, new processes and Manufacturing improvements that improve quality & efficiency.
Support assessments of the quality management system when undertaken by customers and external certification bodies such as BSi Management systems.
To provide technical support and process assistance to engineers and customers as required.
Attend formal design reviews as appropriate to provide guidance related to a particular project.
Carry out quality and process Investigations as determined by the Quality Manager.
Education, Qualifications and Training
Minimum of HNC/HND in an engineering related discipline
In depth knowledge of PPAP and APQP
Knowledge of problem solving and root cause analysis tools.
Should have some knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Understanding of transmission products and quality systems
Experience of implementing and managing the Production Part Approval Process for new and modified products or assemblies.
Experience of leading and participating in failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
Must have awareness of production processes/techniques in an engineering environment.
Must have a desire to investigate and solve root cause of manufacturing problems
Must be a good communicator with the ability to build close working relationships internally and with customers.
Must show organisational commitment and a structured approach to problem solving.
