Purchasing Recruitment and Onboarding Lead – 37841

Pay Rate: up to £22.13/hr Ltd – inside IR35 (PAYE option available)

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Position Description:

The purpose of this role is to act as the functional lead for the onboarding of new recruits into the Purchasing function. The role will be the lead for the recruitment coordination for the UK teams and liaising with the regional teams to ensure that we are consistent in the approach to recruitment and onboarding.

The role has the responsibility to develop and implement best practice for the recruitment and onboarding into the purchasing function, The role will be the main point of contact for the function in regard to the recruitment activities and new recruit onboarding to ensure consistency and all candidate have a great first experience into the function

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact for the HR BP in regard to the UK recruitment Lead on the recruitment activity for the function in the UK and ensuring alignment with the other regions where recruitment may be taking place
  • Lead on the communication out to the function on recruitment activity and progress against plan
  • Work with HR BP to identify when recruitment may need to be accelerated due to attrition or specific recruitment campaigns are required.
  • Lead the onboarding for new UK team members, in conjunction with the hiring manager and the HR BP to include scheduling and lead coordination of recruitment effort for UK teams
  • Coordination and scheduling of induction events
  • Ownership of the induction deck and ensuring it remains current and appropriate - Continual improvement of the onboarding process to provide a best in class experience to new hires
  • Development and deployment of day #1, week #1, month #1 plan for new hires to ensure new hires receive all of the equipment and training to fulfil their role when they join the function (some activities will be shared with the hiring manager and the training team)
  • Ensuring UK recruitment is led through the deployment of a robust and scalable process i.e. lead the use of assessment centres when needed
  • Ensuring a positive experience for all UK new hires into the function and getting positive feedback from the new hires and hiring managers
  • Assurance that new roles advertised are recruited in a timely manner to support the hiring manager to fill vacancies quickly and efficiently

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A structured approach to work with logical thinking to overcome problems
  • Experience of working and influencing cross-functionally
  • Experience of project delivery using a recognised methodology
  • Knowledge and experience in leading cross functional teams
  • Experience of relationship management of stakeholders
  • Good IT skills, able to analyse data for reporting purposes and follow work instruction Relevant experience preferred


  • Experience of working in a manufacturing or automotive environment
  • Experience of delivery to support delivery of specific objectives


  • Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
