Project Manager - West Midlands - Aerospace - Contract
A Project Manager is required with knowledge of complex engineering systems and hydraulics/ actuation. Candidates with experience of the Aerospace Industry would be given preference but other safety critical industries will also be considered.

Due to the continued growth and success of this company, a globally recognised manufacturer of complex aerospace components and systems based in Wolverhampton requires a motivated and proactive Project Manager for a 12 month contract role.

As the Project Manager you will be required to:

  • Provide technical project management and co-ordination to multidiscipline engineering teams, for various NPI projects
  • Deliver the technical solution in line with requirements, budget and schedule
  • Drive resolution of cross discipline technical issues within the development programme
  • Cost and schedule responsibility for programme related engineering activities
  • Report out at the weekly/monthly project review board
  • Support the Programme Manager to create and maintain development plans and schedules
  • Act as the primary day to day project focal point to the customer
  • Support proposal activity for new programmes

The Project Manager should have the following skills or experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Mechanical, Systems or Aerospace Engineering, or experienced within a similar role
  • Has proven effective project engineer related responsibilities, ideally including leading multi-disciplined technical personnel in the design and development of complex systems
  • Ideally development experience in all aspects of integrated actuation systems (system architecture, mechanical actuation, validation, verification, qualification and test)
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, planning and financial management skills
  • Experience with resource allocation, planning and ideally EVMS
  • Experience identifying programme risks, developing and executing mitigation plans
  • Confident in providing technical briefs to internal/external customers and leadership
  • Strong background within NPI for airborne components/systems
  • Track record of meeting non-recurring cost targets and design to cost targets within a single development programme
  • Ability to explain complex concepts and issues to a non-technical audience
  • A proficient and confident presenter
