Project Engineer - Bath

We are urgently looking for a Project Engineer for an initial 2-year fixed term contract who at the company's facility in Bath. The Project Engineer will work within a multi-disciplinary Project Team reporting to and supporting the Programme Manager in delivering a specific high value programme into series production.

The role supports the management of the Programme by collating timely status updates, identifying issues and problems for escalation to the Programme Manager. They are required to undertake a variety of administrative and programme management tasks including planning and organising activities as well as carry out important operational duties. They will be embedded in a project team working alongside Engineering, Quality and Operations teams to deliver the project requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
The duties of the Project Engineer include:
* Project managing the acquisition of turn-key capital equipment for a dedicated manufacturing cell
* Aid on tooling design and component manufacturing, with the Manufacturing Engineering Team. Develop and assist the delivery of a new product into full rate production.
* To ensure that internal databases (Quality and ERP) are maintained with latest product information
* To produce product specification project plans
* To monitor the plan ensuring all activities proceed to schedule
* To monitor and co-ordinate with internal and external suppliers
* To collate all product test data (Acceptance Test Reports) and ensure it is transmitted in a timely manner to the customer
* Contribute to Design Reviews and review of CAD drawings
* Produce Bills of Manufacture (BOM) on Syteline and assist in creating detailed instructions for manufacture
* To assist in the creation and maintenance of FMEA and product validation
* Work closely with production teams to communicate project/product specific manufacturing requirements
* Highlight and resolve issues during production, requesting support where required

Experience and Knowledge Required :
* Mechanical/production engineering
* Product and process development
* Project life cycle
* Knowledge in both 2D and 3D CAD
* DFM knowledge
* Knowledge of drawing standards
* Maintenance of BOMs
* Creation of technical documentation
* Ability to produce high quality output with attention to detail
* Continuous Improvement experience

Desirable or able to Develop:
* Knowledge and understanding of the operational and procurement challenges of tracked and wheeled armoured vehicles
* Knowledge and understanding of the challenges of technology development, new product development and new product introduction projects
* Familiarity with multinational projects subject to US ITAR and UK export legislation
* Experience in the use of industrial MRP, MRP-II or ERP tools
* Commitment to CPD, e.g. PM qualifications, risk management, six-sigma, team leading courses
