A Programme Controller is required to join the Programme Team within a market leading Innovative Defence Systems Company. The Programme Controller will support the Programme Manager in constructing and maintaining the programme plans and reports.

The Programme Controller reports to the Programme Control Manager and must a high level of coordination and interaction with external parties, as well as the management team.

The Programme Controller must be capable of constructing the elements of a programme control system across all disciplines: Engineering, Programme Management, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.

Programme Controller - Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • The construction and maintenance of Programme Control reporting systems and data sets
  • Generation and maintenance of Programme Schedule(s)
  • Collect and maintain data in support of Management Reporting
  • Assist in the compilation of periodic reports
  • Maintenance of the Programme File
  • Administration of internal and external meetings, including preparation recording minutes
  • Maintenance of the Programme Action Register
  • Administration and maintenance of the programme Risk Database
  • Generation and maintenance of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Support of Team Leaders in the generation and maintenance of Work Packages
  • Tracking and reporting of Programme Milestone achievements
  • Assist in the compilation of periodic Programme Progress Reports
  • Interface with manufacturing and develop working relationships with Customers
  • Proven experience in undertaking programme tasks
  • Scheduling and management of modifications
  • Scheduling of specific equipment repairs and upgrades to meet programme demands

Technical Skills and Experience for Programme Controller

  • Proven experience in Programme Control
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defence Sector
  • Good general IT skills - must be competent in the use of Microsoft Project, MS Excel, Word
  • The ability to work independently as well as being part of a team
  • Good interpersonal skills and Good organisational and planning skills
  • Good judgement and initiative with a flexible approach to work duties and hours
  • Good motivation skills and Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to process high volumes and within structured protocols
  • Ability to work concurrently on several activities
