This global automotive Tier 1 has asked us to search for an exceptional Production Supervisor to help drive forward positive change on the shifts. You will be a strong people manager, with experience of working in a similar, automotive, fast paced manufacturing environment.
As Production Supervisor you will manage the production performance, personnel issues and the Health, Safety & Environment and Lead the Quality Cost & Delivery Performance for your dedicated shift.
You will work with your teams to set targets, implement plans, track daily results and make appropriate adjustments in resource planning to attain desired results.
Working closely with the Production Manager and Production Supervisors of other shifts, and support functions, you will ensure a transparent information flow and work together to increase efficiency and promote best practice in your area and shift.
Using your knowledge of lean and continuous improvement methodology you will look at improving performance, not only in equipment but team members by using 5s, TPM and 6M. The organisation uses a CI method like Toyota Production System. You will drive teamwork, lead problem solving groups, lead workshops on quality improvement methods.
A good Production Supervisor will have impactful management tools and techniques and you will ensure that your shift has appropriate headcount, the respect of standardised work methods and continually look for ways of improving morale. You will be a trusted and respected leader of your shift where your attitude and aptitude shines through as a natural leader.
We are keen to talk to Team or Cell Leaders who are ready to make the next step to Production Supervisor for a shift. Ideally you will have the following knowledge and experience:
- Production experience gained in an automotive environment, OEM or Tier.
- Team Player
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Operational level of English
- Working knowledge of CI and Lean methodology, ideally TPS
