Location: Worcester

A Procurement Manager is required for an engineering/manufacturing business that produces high value, complex, automated capital equipment suppling a wide and varied customer base. Due to continued success and demand for their exciting range of products they are now looking to recruit a Procurement Manager who will manage a team of senior buyers / buyers to support the UK procurement activity. As a business partner you will collaborate with colleagues to identify business opportunities and potential risks within the supply chain that could impact production and customer delivery. As a manager of a busy procurement department, you will ensure compliance and continually look to improve and deliver best practice while mentoring and training your staff to provide high and consistent levels of service.

To be considered for this Procurement Manager position you must have / or be.

  • Working as a Procurement Manager in a fast-paced procurement or supply chain environment and used to managing and developing both internal and external relationships with customers and suppliers on an international basis.
  • Have excellent people management skills, able to provide leadership and demonstrate strong influencing and negotiation skills while delivering best practice and value across the procurement activity.
  • Experience of procurement within an engineering/manufacturing environment of complex precision manufactured automated products having a high individual part count, purchased on a global basis. Confident managing multiple portfolio purchasing across both services and goods.
  • Ideally degree or CIPS qualified with proven sourcing and business experience with a high level of expertise using Microsoft applications particularly Excel and a good understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Commercially astute and customer facing able to think strategically but deliver tactically to ensure business expectations and goals are consistently achieved.
  • Dynamic, data driven and numerate, with an inquisitive nature, able to multi-task and not afraid to question and challenge at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation, self-motivated able to motivate and influence others, create understanding and desire to change and continuously improve in the people you work with at all levels.
