Continuous Improvement Engineer - Contract & Permanent

East Midlands - Aerospace & Defence

Multiple Continuous Improvement Engineers are required to join the team within a market leading, innovative engineering solutions company that specialise in safety critical and high technology environments.

The Continuous Improvement Engineers will support the Customer and drive Continual Process Improvement, by addressing and eliminating non-conformance and related manufacturing issues such as customer complaints, concessions and production delays, through the identification of root causes and the implementation of robust preventative and corrective actions.

The Continuous Improvement Engineers - Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct 'Data Mining' and analysing Non-Conformance issues
  • Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities
  • Lead and perform Process Capability Studies
  • Conduct PFMEA and implement the necessary Control Plans
  • Support Cost Engineering with Cost Analysis- Material and Production Cost
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings
  • Provide support to the Design, Manufacturing & Purchasing Functions Teams
  • Create Work Instructions, SOP's, Technical instructions and planning documents
  • Monitor and control the implementation of improvement actions
  • Report effectiveness, in terms of Quality Cost and Delivery

Technical Skills and Experience required for The Continuous Improvement Engineers

  • Degree in a Mechanical Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Should have background on Quality Management Systems
  • Green Belt certification in any Quality initiative would be added advantage
  • Comprehensive knowledge of different manufacturing processes
  • Fully conversant reading Engineering & Manufacturing Drawings
  • Expert in interpreting the GD&T
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project.
  • Knowledge of CAD Software: UG or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Analysis tools: Minitab14 and above
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management: Teamcenter / Solumina
  • Knowledge in Measurements system analysis (MSA)
  • Hands on experience in using all types of Measuring & Testing equipment
  • Expert in Root cause analysis, implementation and other problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge of NDT and special process techniques
  • Good understanding of an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment
  • Awareness of aerospace/auto quality requirements (AS9100, TS 16949, various ISO)
  • Willing to travel to the Customer site & Service providers, as required
