Principal Structural/Crash Engineer

Electric Vehicle - Coventry - £45k - £65k DOE

Searching for an automotive job with the opportunity to work on a highly innovative EV programme? The chance to work from blank page concept to basis of design?

This is an exceptional opportunity for automotive engineers to actualise designs, challenge their skills and push the boundaries of conceptual vehicle design within a leading company renowned for their expertise in automotive research & development.

Opportunities exist for Engineer level in addition to Principal.

What you will do
As Principal Structural/Crash Engineer;

  • To provide technical leadership on design and development of vehicle body structures
  • To deliver body engineering performance targets (crash, stiffness, NVH)
  • To develop and lead the crashworthiness technology for the project.
  • To lead and manage full vehicle safety CAE models for vehicle body structures.
  • To represent our client as a credible authority on lightweight body structures design and development
  • To translate the project deliverables into a successful plan of work through the management of the technical team, to deliver within the project budget and timescale.
  • To disseminate project outputs through presentations etc. to a wider audience, as appropriate.


What you will need
As Principal Structural/Crash Engineer;

  • Degree or equivalent in relevant subject, e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering
  • Extensive industrial experience of automotive body structures design and development
  • Experience of vehicle crashworthiness and occupant safety requirements.
  • The ability to provide technical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team
  • A hands-on approach to the technical delivery required to achieve the project outcomes.
  • Proven ability to correctly prioritise a broad range of requests from many customers, both internal and external
