Due to current expansion and continuous sales growth with a large blue chip cujstomer base, this international provider of automation solutions is looking to recruit a PLC Software & Commissioning Engineer

Salary: Circa £45,000 - £50,000 per annum plus O/T, Pension, 33 days holiday, training and progression

Suitable for:  Control Systems Engineer, Controls Engineer, Software Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Automation Engineer

The role will involve technical development of intralogistics warehouse automation solutions taking projects through from concept to completion. Developing PLC code and associated processes from scratch and liaising and coordinating ‘in house’ electrical Eplan or Autocad design engineers through the design phase in their Nottingham office, leading up to then taking the lead role in implementing final commissioning to handover stage at clients sites throughout the UK and occasionally Europe or International.

Background and experience:

This opportunity would suit an experienced senior PLC commissioning engineer familiar with Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms using Step 7 / TIA Portal / Logix5000 packages. Experience with conveyor systems / warehouse ASRS systems would be an advantage. Bar coding and interaction with WCS/WMS systems plus familiarity of networks such as Asi, profibus, profinet, Ethernet IP etc would also be favourable. Good knowledge of electrical schematic drawings and electrical safety circuits would be a pre requisite.

This is a full time permanent position for the right candidate looking for a long term career with a progressive company offering variety and new challenges. The role would require working Monday – Friday at their offices in Nottingham and also there will be periods of working away from home during commissioning phases, probably 60/40 % in that order. There will be occasional visits to our head office in Germany for meetings and / or testing and trials of equipment, FAT tests etc.

Please apply as soon as possible to be considered for this exciting PLC Software & Commissioning Engineer role.
