A PCDS Process Engineer is required to join an automotive OEM based in Gaydon.

Position Description:

PCDS Process Engineer PCDS (Product Creation and Delivery System) is the end to end enterprise framework that the business uses to deliver new vehicles from concept into production. It`s a complex system of cross-functional workstreams, process activities, deliverables, gateways and event that all have duration and dependencies associated with them.

With the constant drive to deliver more great products faster amongst an increasingly tougher marketplace, we need to ensure that our vehicle delivery system is as efficient and effective as possible, bringing products into volume production on time.

You will work as part of a small, multi-skilled team to create the next generation of PCDS, ACDS and all of the unit processes, enabling the business to achieve key improvements such as VB off-tool parts and a longer Launch maturation period.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Delivery of multiple workstream process maps (To be agreed based on experience)
  • Analysis and optimisation of the critical path through the entire network
  • Co-authoring of deliverables and roles and responsibilities for the process activities
  • Creating scalable templates for all processes

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with key workstream owners
  • Create process maps within the workstreams, describing inputs, outputs, tasks, durations, dependencies
  • Participate in re-building the entire end to end network of process activities
  • Discover ways to optimise the network and reduce the critical path where possible
  • Assist in making the new network operational and launch it into live use within vehicle programmes
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Skills Required:

  1. Experience of Project Management in a major multi-year complex cross-functional programme in a relevant industry or degree equivalent
  2. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills; able to build and maintain strong relationships and implement new ways of working
  3. Process mapping, critical path analysis, planning and scheduling

Experience Required:

  • Experience of Project Management in a major multi-year complex cross-functional programme in a relevant industry or degree equivalent

Education Required:

Programme Management qualifications (e.g. APM PMQ / PRINCE2)
