Maintenance Engineer

£34,000 (double days) or £36,000 (permanent nights)

We are working 2 permanent maintenance engineer roles for the same Birmingham based tiered automotive supplier; both roles are multi skilled in a manufacturing environment.  We are looking for the following for the maintenance engineer roles:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (pressings ideally)
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical breakdowns
  • Able to diagnose via a PLC
  • Appropriate education in engineering

The roles are permanent employment with immediate starts either on a double day shift (Mon-Fri) or permanent nightshift (4 night), both with early finishes on a Friday.  The company are offering the following for the maintenance engineer positions:

Multi - Skilled Maintenance Technician

 

 

 

SITE : SAST - Tyseley

 

 

 

 

RESPONSIBLE TO: Maintenance Coordinator / Manufacturing Coordinator

 

 

 

 

HOURS OF WORK : Double Days & Night Shifts

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To ensure that under the direction and guidance of the Maintenance Coordinator & Production Co-ordinator, T.P.M's and general maintenance work mechanical & electrical is carried out effectively and efficiently across all areas of the site.

 

 

 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out basic planned maintenance according to the TPM programme.

 

 

 

 

  • Review the preventative maintenance plan weekly and report any concerns to your Supervisor.

 

 

 

 

  • Assist and liaise with contractors as required or instructed by your Supervisor

 

 

 

 

  • Liaise formally with Maintenance Team Leaders on progress and report any concerns identified.

 

 

 

 

  • Mechanical/electrical press, plant and site repairs in accordance with the maintenance report procedure.

 

 

 

 

  • Update the maintenance folders as and when required and improve the departmental systems to improve
  • reliability

 

 

 

 

  • Ensure all equipment you are working on or with is safe and fit for the purpose, if not report this to your Supervisor immediately.

 

 

 

 

  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to during work

 

 

 

 

  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in any given work area

 

 

 

 

  • Be prepared to work outside' normal working hours' as and when required

 

 

 

 

  • To attend any training courses and / or meetings when requested

 

 

 

 

  • Updating the PPM System and adding to and tracking the Plant TPM

 

 

 

 

  • Assisting in decreasing the number of maintenance operations to reduce the risk of errors

 

 

 

 

  • Identify cost cutting savings within the Maintenance Department and throughout operations

 

 

 

 

  • Preventive maintenance to include tests, measurement, adjustments, parts replacement and cleaning to prevent faults occurring

 

 

 

 

  • Carry out regular and routine work on equipment to prevent breakdowns

 

 

 

 

  • Preventive care and servicing of maintenance equipment by providing systematic inspection , detection and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or develop into major defects

 

 

 

 

  • Must be IT literate

 

 

 

 

These duties are not 'limited' or 'fixed' and you may be required to take on additional reasonable responsibilities, as our business needs change
