Metal Fabricators - Aerospace Manufacturing - Permanent

Nights and Days Available - Attractive - South-east

A global leader in the manufacture of aerospace components with a reputation for quality and delivery is looking for multiple Metal Fabricators to join the company. The Metal Fabricators will report to the Production Manager and will be working alongside another Metal Fabricators. The Metal Fabricator will be able to follow procedures, have the ability to read complex engineering drawings and produce work to a very high standard.

This opportunity is available for both the Night Shift (Plus Night Shift Allowance) and the Day Shift.

Training will be given to bring the individual up to the required standard.

The Metal Fabricator will be responsible for the following:

  • Set up and operate fabricating machines including brake press, guillotine and band saws.
  • Cut, bend and straighten different metals as required.
  • Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials/panels.
  • Use calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, rulers and other measuring instruments.
  • Inspect individual parts, assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications.
  • Work to quality standards, using measuring instruments.
  • Work with aluminium and some mild steel & stainless steel.
  • Shape metal using hand tools including: Stretch Forming; Rubber Press and Brake Press.
  • Adhere and follow ISO9001 procedures.
  • Other reasonable duties which are within your capabilities.

The Metal Fabricator should have the following Qualifications Skills and or Experience:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes within the aerospace or automotive industry.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and aerospace specifications.
  • Competent at general Sheet Metal duties including de-burring and drilling.
  • Experience in a precision engineering/manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver parts on time.
  • Problem analysis and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge and proven experience of metal fabrication techniques.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods
  • Strict adherence to health and safety, and standard operation protocols expected

**Security Clearance (SC) may be required due to the nature of the aerospace products involved**
