Job title:                            Mechanical Production Engineer - Automation                    

Salary Range:                    £27,500 TO £35,000 per annum 

Hours:                                  37.5-hour week

Location:                             Worcester, Worcestershire  

Permanent role working for a worldwide advanced technology solutions manufacturing organisation.    

Two Mechanical Production Engineers are required with knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, interpretation engineering drawings, mechanical Pneumatic & Hydraulic circuits and Metrology/inspection methods.

Candidates with knowledge of defining & documenting assembly procedures, project planning & project management and understanding of electrical systems would be well received.

Due to expansion this Worcester based client requires two dynamic, leading Mechanical Production Engineers on a permanent basis to add to a team of 6. As a Mechanical Production Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Provide technical support to the production departments on mechanical systems
  • Quickly resolving machine breakdowns and line stoppages
  • Test & evaluate of new machines including functional checking
  • Mechanical validation of new option design
  • Preparing modification requests for the design changes (hose/pipe length changes etc..)
  • The specification, design & commissioning of test rigs
  • Preparation of mechanical assembly process documents & check sheets
  • Identifying risks and implementing safety improvements
  • Technical support to the Service & QA departments, requiring occasional field trips

The Mechanical Production Engineer should have the following skills or experience:

  • Mechanical Apprenticeship Trained (Technician Level)
  • ONC or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Graduate Engineers Considered
  • Self-motivation & good time management
  • A sound grasp of mechanical engineering principles
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to read & interpret mechanical Pneumatic & Hydraulic circuits
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Metrology/inspection methods
  • CAD experience (Catia, Solidworks, Creo)
  • Risk assessment & an appreciation of health & safety requirements
  • Defining & documenting assembly procedures
  • Project planning & project management
  • Understanding of electrical systems to aid with fault finding
  • An ability to make process & productivity improvements
  • The ability to operate CNC machinery
