Mechanical Design Team Lead - Dudley, West Midlands - £ Competitive DOE

A Mechanical Design Team Lead (Applications) is required for a company that leads the way in supplying life-enhancing mobility solutions to a wide range of customers. You will use your engineering knowledge to make a real difference to people, by developing design solutions for accessibility products. You will use a broad spectrum of engineering skills in this ever-changing and rewarding role.

As Mechanical Design Team Lead - you will be required to

• Produce high quality, accurate and timely drawings, and continuously improve the application of the core technology for maximum customer benefit and satisfaction.
• Supervise, guide and lead a team of CAD engineers.
• Liaise with engineers and surveyors to pragmatically resolve queries.
• Assist in development and maintenance of new products, working alongside the R&D team.
• Use a CRM system to maintain progress updates.
• Contribute to performance reporting and raise and respond to corrective actions, to improve the quality of product and process.
• Visit installations that have been aborted and implement permanent fixes to prevent reoccurrence.
• Assist in developing software for accurately capturing information during installation site surveys.
• Develop the role by enhancing links between your team and R&D design / production / manufacturing staff.

As Mechanical Design Team Lead - you will be

• An experienced mechanical designer, capable of producing high quality 3D drawings (Solidworks).
• Strong attention to details and be highly results focussed.
• Have a continuous improvement mindset and be a good practical problem solver.
• Have excellent customer service and people skills, with an enthusiasm for mentoring more junior staff.
• Be PC literate and have previous supervisory experience.
