Mechanical Design Engineer - Driveline Electrification - Lichfield - Permanent - £Competitive
Reporting to the Line Manager, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven capability and experience in mechanical design. The work will involve the mechanical design of electromechanical systems such as electric machines, inverters, DCDC converters, etc, along with associated tooling and test equipment.

What You Will Do:
As Mechanical Design Engineer;

  • Use of 3D CAD to produce models of components, assemblies & layout of 2D drawings
  • Finite-element & CFD analysis & engineering calcs to support design work
  • Support of FMEA activities
  • Creation and management of assembly bills of material;
  • Support of manufacturing & assembly departments;
  • Presentation of design concepts and technical analyses both internally and to external clients;
  • Preparation of test plans & analysis of results;

What You Will Need:
As Mechanical Design Engineer;

  • Minimum Bachelor level Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering;
  • Excellent 3D modelling & drawing skills, Creo / Pro/E is desirable but not essential;
  • Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle systems;
  • A good knowledge of engineering manufacturing standards and processes for both prototypes and low/medium volume production;
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills;
  • High levels of motivation & a flexible approach in terms of working hours;
