Manufacturing Production Engineer
Northamptonshire
Up to £40,000, plus pension
This is an excellent position with a forward-thinking organisation that specialises in niche vehicle conversions for key sectors across the UK and beyond. The business is well established and well organised, having a superb senior leadership team in place.
Due to an increase in work, they have asked us to find an exceptional Manufacturing Production Engineer, ideally degree educated in a manufacturing, engineering or production discipline you will report into the Operations Manager and work very closely with the Engineering Manager. The position offers genuine career progression to senior management for the right candidate with the attitude, aptitude and desire to succeed.
You will have day to day responsibility for improving production efficiency and implementation of continuous improvement.
As the Manufacturing Production Engineer, you will assist the Operations Manager to achieve a profitable and efficient assembly operation and to succeed with the production targets/output. In addition to this with the engineering bias that you bring you will execute process improvements, drive efficiency's into all areas of the assembly and installation process and advise on best practice where possible.
You will be an experienced Production Engineer, with knowledge and ability to deliver 5S, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. An excellent communicator demonstrating good organisational skills, with the ability to work cross functionality. Furthermore, you will be enthusiastic, a team player and an experienced people manager with the ability to engage and communicate at all levels.
Working with all stakeholders, you will understand Design for Manufacture, as the business does get involved with several low volumes, bespoke manufacturing projects which will need engineering creativity to solve and to develop into production.
The successful candidate must be able to develop an effective team ethos by promoting common purpose and vision, whilst helping develop an effective system of operating.
As Manufacturing Production Engineer, you will have the following experiences:
Production, Assembly, Manufacturing background

  • Experienced Engineer (mechanical/hydraulic background)
  • Must be adept in taking a high level of responsibility and decision making on a day to day basis
  • Have a high degree of personal accountability
  • Be able to work on own their initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • A drive for continuous improvement
  • Proven team player
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A dynamic approach to business
  • Experience of working with Epicor /ERP/MRP would be advantageous
