Are you a Manufacturing Engineer looking to join a company with a globally recognised brand supporting the production of niche vehicles. Based at their manufacturing plant in Croatia, the role will involve the evaluation of current production processes, identifying areas for improvements, implementing process improvements across all areas of production to increase flow, standardisation, performance and quality.

A primary part of the role will also be to industrialise and launch new products covering EV, Battery Technology, E-Axles, Vehicle Systems and Infotainment Systems taking them from concept through to full production.   

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting production in the development of process flow, manufacturing layouts, SOP’s process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Industrialise and launch new products from initial concept through to mass production for advanced and innovative components and systems that may require research in to manufacturing processes and alternative production methodology.
  • Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and control plans, on new and existing production process to ensure all arising issues are effectively communicated to the team and actioned accordingly.
  • Defining and developing work instructions for new and existing processes to ensure standardisation across all areas of production.
  • Reviewing production metrics to identify key areas for cost saving and to lead cross-functional teams to define and implement improvements, applying industry standard problem solving and waste reduction methodologies.
  • Implementing process controls and manufacturing systems to improve production performance as required.
  • Working closely with design, engineering, quality and associated departments to ensure process capability and compliance.
  • Influence, train and mentor operational staff within change management to embrace new methodology and processes to increase performance.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will require the following skills and experience:

  • Awareness of production processes and manufacturing systems used within assembly of battery systems, power train units, axles and/or full vehicle build being advantageous.
  • Ability to critically appraise current production processes to be able to implement improvements within manufacturing to increase flow.
  • Background in taking new products from concept through all phases of industrialisation and product launch to meet build schedules and demands.
  • Ability to create and control process documentation to address production issues and corporate objectives and goals.
  • Good problem solving skills using 8D, 5Y, Six Sigma and Root Cause within a manufacturing environment.
  • A sound understanding of process improvement and lean principles / techniques within manufacturing.

Personal Qualities:

  • Knowledge and experience of Production Techniques (Assembly Ideally), Manufacturing Systems and Process & Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Flexible in approach; not afraid to get involved wherever their skills are needed.
  • Be tenacious and curious in finding problems and creative in delivering solutions.
  • Able to communicate and engage from shop floor to board level to influence change.
  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
