This is a great opportunity to join one of the UK's leading manufactures of material handling systems based in a brand new facility in north Birmingham. The Operations Manager role will report directly in to the Managing Director and it is envisaged the position will become a Director level role in the future.

The Operations Manager will take responsibility for leadership of manufacturing operations, ensuring on-time and on-budget supply of quality systems and services to customers. You will be hands-on, driving performance and ensuring you spend time with your team to assess capability across the functions. You will ensure the business is fit for further growth by developing and mentoring your direct reports, and taking ownership of succession planning and recruitment.

You will have demonstrable experience within manufacturing and operations management within a complex engineering / manufacturing environment. You're hands-on and have proven experience leading and improving a team to deliver consistent results.

Manufacturing Operations Manager Requirements

  • 5 years plus experience in manufacturing operations
  • Degree qualified in mechanical / manufacturing / engineering (desirable not essential)
  • Evidence of leadership with proven success in leading people
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ambition and commitment
