A Manufacturing Engineering Manager is required to lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers to ensure full support to operational production programme requirements through the deployment of suitable tools, techniques and processes. Candidates with proven experience gained in a low / medium Manufacturing Engineering / production assembly environment, preferably in Aerospace, Defence, Automotive or similar sectors would be well received.

Due to increased workloads this company, a leading technology and engineering services business, based in Wantage, requires a proactive Manufacturing Engineering Manager to develop and manage the organisations Manufacturing Engineering strategy to support the overall business requirements. As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will be required to:

  • Manage and develop all Manufacturing Engineers and activities to support the needs of the business
  • Management representative for all manufacturing engineering tasks and activities
  • Develop and collate critical KPI data to support the management review process
  • Support the development of PFMEA, control plans, SOP's, MBOM's and work instructions
  • Identify and implement manufacturing best practice to enable operational efficiency and associated improvements
  • Work closely with the wider Manufacturing team to define and implement appropriate manufacturing tools, techniques, processes, jigs, fixtures and equipment

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager should have the following skills or experience:

  • Ideally degree qualified
  • Experience of low / medium volume automation
  • Strong practical problem solving skills with the knowledge and experience to mentor others in the use of disciplined problem solving tools and techniques such as 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, SOP's is essential, along with experience in implementing APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing lean methods (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Knowledge of Siemens Teamcentre MPP and NoMuda Visual Factory software would be an advantage
