Manufacturing Engineer - Telford, Shropshire - Up to £45k - Automotive
This leading automotive manufacturer, a global player with over 150 manufacturing sites and a very well established site in Shropshire are seeking a talented Manufacturing Engineer to support the site with ongoing improvement projects. The site manufactures components for both OEM assembly and also aftermarket sales specialising in processes across plastic moulding predominantly.
The purpose of this role is to deliver and drive improvement projects across the site using recognised tools such as six sigma and KPI data. You will be supporting the resolution of manufacturing issues across advanced manufacturing and maintenance working with both internal stakeholders and external service or equipment providers.
This role will see you delivering improvements and finding the most efficient ways to operate while considering people, process, materials and technology or machinery. Some of the day to day duties may include:
- Applying LEAN techniques such as VSM, work study, waste walks and similar to identify areas and opportunities for improvements
- Understanding cost file impact and using as a baseline data for improvements.
- Collecting data to be used in project recognition, justification and validation.
- Creation of timing and action plans to self manage projects and use to measure progress.
This is a site wide role giving you the opportunity to work across all processes and areas and to deliver on a varied work load as part of a talented multi skilled team. Applicants with a background of plastic based manufacturing, especially in automotive would be of particular interest to us. To be considered you must hold a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent, relevant qualification.
