Title: Manufacturing Engineer - 37156

Division: Manufacturing Engineering

Contract Position based at: Gaydon

Rate: - up to £25.32 Ltd (which equals £19.86/hr PAYE rate) 

Position Description:

Skills Required:

  1. Relevant previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques
  2. Knowledge of either Body & Trim, Chassis, Electrical, Powertrain, Engine, Batteries & Driveline processes (Vehicle, Component or other products)
  3. Knowledge of Body & Trim, Chassis, Electrical, Powertrain, EBD processes

Skills Preferred

  • Understanding of PCDS/ IPS requirements & Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience in the procurement and management of multiple machine tools covering a wide range of machining processes including grinding, milling, drilling, reaming, honing, assembly & test cells, washes and a variety of automation.

Experience Required:

  • Flexible approach to job responsibilities and working hours
  • Mechanical Engineering principles
  • Ability to manage 3D models tools (CAD)

Experience Preferred:

  • Knowledge of and involvement in the product development phase
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of Body & Trim, Chassis, Electrical, Powertrain, EBD processes
  • Geometric dimensional & tolerancing knowledge (GD&T) with ability to perform tolerance stack up
  • Experience in programming CNCs / CMMs/ Robots and Controls would be of benefit as we drive for greater levels of self-sufficiency.
  • A good knowledge of CAD, PCDS, APQP, AIMs and other systems used in JLR would be of benefit.

Education Required:

HNC/HND/Degree in relevant Engineering discipline

Education Preferred:

Ideally educated to Degree level in Manufacturing or a similar Engineering discipline
