£35,000 to £48,000 pa plus Benefits 

Do you want to work for a well-established manufacturing company, with a globally recognised brand for the design, manufacture and supply of commercial vehicles, seeking a team of Manufacturing Engineers to influence current production to meet their growth aspirations.

This requires a ‘hands on approach’ and ‘can do attitude’ with the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the evaluation of current production processes, identification of areas for development and implementation of improvements to increase flow and bring standardisation within a small to medium production environment.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be required to:

  • Assist production in the development of process flow, manufacturing layouts, SOP’s process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Define and develop work instructions for new and existing processes to ensure standardisation across all areas of production.
  • Review production metrics to identify key areas for cost saving and to lead cross-functional teams to define and implement improvements, applying industry standard problem solving and waste reduction methodologies.
  • Implement process controls and manufacturing systems to improve production performance.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will have:

  • A relevant qualification or track record within Manufacturing, Process or Production Engineering
  • Awareness of production processes within a small to medium manufacturing environment (exposure to fabrication, assembly, paint applications and vehicle build would be advantageous)
  • Ability to critically appraise current production processes to be able to implement improvements within manufacturing to increase flow.
  • Good problem solving skills using 8D, 5Y, Six Sigma and Root Cause within a manufacturing environment.
  • A sound understanding of process improvement and lean principles / techniques within manufacturing.
